courtesy of Yelp Pie lovers will no longer need to make the trek to antique mecca Round Top for a slice of Texas Trash Pie or Junk Berry Pie from Royers Round Top Cafe. The Royer family is opening an Austin location this fall at 2900 Guadalupe St., according to the Austin Chronicle. The pie cafe will go into space formerly occupied by Toy Joy — the wildly weird toy retailer — which made a move to the Second Street District this spring after its leased expired, as reported previously by the Austin Business Journal. Apparently, Langford Market, a woman’s apparel store with a location in the Second Street District, is opening another store next door to Royers along the popular stretch called The Drag near the University of Texas. Torchy’s Tacos will open it’s 11th Austin location in Mueller, the infill master-planned community in Central Austin. But don’t get those taste buds fired up right away. The Mueller restaurant won’t open until next summer. The site is a corner lot at 51st Street and Berkman Drive. “This corner location gives us great visibility, the well-designed building gives us the opportunity to add a full bar and serve more people on a spacious patio,” said Michael Rypka, Torchy’s founder and executive chef. Mueller has attracted a number of eateries recently, including Verts, GreenGos, Boneheads, Tino’s and Pad Thai. See more about Mueller’s burgeoning development prowess here.
